Good Books

This last Sunday in my sermon on the Spiritual Discipline of learning, I mentioned a few good books that every Christian should read.  I list just a few of the best of them to whet your appetite.

Because some of you may be new to reading theology or similar material, I have included a number that corresponds to the “easiness” of the read: 1 being something a child could read, and 10 being PhD level.

“Humility” (3), and “Worldliness” (3)- CJ Mahaney
“Desiring God” (7) and “Don’t waste your life” (5) – John Piper
“My Utmost for His Highest” (5) – Oswald Chambers
“Knowing God” (7) & “Evangelism and the Sovereignty of God” (6) – J.I. Packer
“Spiritual Disciplines for the Christian Life” (5) & “Praying the Bible” (5) – Don Whitney
“Total Truth” (8) – Nancy Percey
“A Hill on Which to Die” (6) – Paul Pressler
“Systematic Theology” (9) – Wayne Grudem
“Onward” (5) – Russell Moore
“Just Do Something” (4) – Kevin DeYoung
“The Most Encouraging Book on Hell Ever” (3) – Thor Ramsey
“9 Marks of a Healthy Church” (6) – Mark Dever
“Screw tape Letters” (6) – by C.S. Lewis
